The City of Canada Bay & The Australian Maritime Museum
Designing location story tours to engage visitors in the history of Australia's WWII preparations and involvement
Maitree worked with The City of Canada Bay Council under a grant program of the Australian Maritime Museum, to produce this documentary style audio walking tour that has been highly recommended by visitors and the local community.
Rising Tide is a heritage trail app taking visitors on a unique 11 km walk around the beautiful foreshore areas of the Parramatta River in the City of Canada Bay and Ryde. The journey takes people back in time to explore the stories of the people and places who played a significant role in Australia’s efforts in the second world war.

Outcomes
- Thoroughly researched heritage trail tour told through interviews with WWII veterans and boatbuilders who recall the stories first hand.
- More than 10 stops of significance throughout the trail, each with their own crafted short story encouraging exploration on site, and connecting people to the stories of place.
