Collaboration with Katrina Douglas, Cloé Fournier & Emily Dash
Challenging audiences to consider their individual role in climate change with virtual reality theatre experience and XR game
Co-created by Artistic Director Katrina Douglas, artists Cloé Fournier, Emily Dash and Maitree’s Peta Khan, BioticX is a VR theatre performance and game utilising parallel realities to explore how we can come together as a community to combat the rise of climate disasters.
This trailblazing performance immerses audience in 'the cult of the individual' through virtual experiences and examines the need to break free and work collectively to rewild the planet.
The first development of bioticX was supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.

Outcomes
Maitree was excited to support the artistic team to produce the VR game prototype of Biotic X- a hybrid mix of VR gaming, dance, verbatim storytelling and community engagement. Each layer offers audiences multiple perspectives and avenues into the issues we are exploring. The outcome will be a unique emergent artform that engages in new and exciting ways.
