Liquid Interactive & NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

Collaborating with people with disability to codesign and create training content for NDIS support workers.

We codesigned and created the content for the first suite of online training courses delivered by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to improve the quality of care for people with disability across Australia.

Over three years Maitree collaborated with people with disability across Australia, NDIS workers and elearning agencies Sumtotal and Liquid Interactive, to produce relevant, practical education and training tools for support workers. To date the modules have seen over 500 000 support workers from across Australia participating in the training.

Feedback from Support Workers

‍The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds disability support for more than 4 million Australians and required the development of worker capability within a nationally consistent framework. Support workers who underwent the training gave insight on their experience:

Thanks, this was one of the best lived experience trainings I have seen in 30 years of my career!
This would be great to implement to all staff in the disability sector as it speaks volumes on how to implement and support safe and enjoyable meals for participants whilst also working in line with their choice and control.
I enjoyed the person centred focus of the modules. This was a really well delivered and presented educational experience for what is a complex issue that often will overwhelm carers. It made me feel I can do this.

To explore the modules further, you can find them on the NDIS website:
